Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 2003
Held at 2.00pm on 19th October 2003 at Appleby Business Centre, Bridge Street, Appleby in Westmorland, Cumbria.
Present: Ann Bowmer, Ashley Bowmer, Newton Bowmer, Andreas Doebereiner, Ann Doebereiner, Sheila McDonald, Carl Pennington, Joanne Sowerby, Adrian Waite, Elaine Waite.
Apologies: Nick Appleyard, Glenda Mortimer, Wesley Perriman, Nicola Poole, David Robson, Amy Waite, Debbie Walker.
1. The Minutes of the 2002 AGM were agreed as a true record. There were no matters arising.
2. Elaine Waite reported on the events during 2003 that had been held at Skipton, Fort Pauli, Tewkesbury, Berwick on Tweed and Blore Heath. Adrian Waite reported that the accounts showed a healthy balance and it was decided to buy an awning for the 2004 season so that all-weather displays could be offered.
3. Wesley Perriman and Amy Waite had written to suggest that it should not be compulsory for all men to have soldier’s equipment as long as they depicted another class of medieval person. This was agreed.
4. The committee was elected for 2003/2004 as: Elaine Waite (Chairman & Events Organiser), Adrian Waite (Treasurer & Captain), Ann Bowmer (Recruitment and Publicity).
5. It was agreed to hold events at Towton and Skipton again in 2004, and to seek invitations to some other selected venues. It was agreed to attend Wars of the Roses Federation events when Red Wyvern Society events were not held.
6. It was agreed to hold monthly practice sessions during the winter, including one joint session with the Neville Household.
7. The meeting closed at 4.00pm.
