Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 2004
21st November 2004 – Minutes
Present: Marie Ammundsen, Newton Bowmer, Andreas Doebereiner, Ann Doebereiner, Sheila McDonald, Aaron Robshaw, Adrian Waite, Elaine Waite, Tim Wilson.
1. Apologies for Absence
None.
2. Minutes of the 2003 AGM and Matters Arising
The minutes were agreed as a true record. There were no matters arising.
3. Committee report on 2004 events
The Committee reported on our successful programme of events during 2004.
4. Accounts 2003/2004
The Accounts showed that the Society had achieved a small surplus for the year. It was agreed that the society should buy some new equipment for the 2005 season, including an awning, benches, trestle tables, stocks and light Polearms (made from broom handles) for the use of public children.
5. Planning for 2005 events
It was agreed to aim to organise one event a month and to hold weekend events rather than day events. It was also agreed to accept invitations to other events where appropriate. Potential venues were discussed. It was noted that events have already been booked at Skipton Castle and Bedale Arboretum.
6. Election of Committee
Adrian Waite (Secretary & Treasurer), Elaine Waite (Chair), and Tim Wilson (Research Officer)
7. Practice Events during winter 2004/2005
It was agreed that practice events be held monthly during the winter, with the first being held in Penrith on 8th & 9th January 2005.
8. Any Other Business
Ann Doebereiner would welcome contributions for the website.
