1st May, Penrith
Penrith Lions have been running the May Day celebrations in the town for a number of years. They obtained extra funding this year and were therefore looking to put on a more exciting event.
We set up a camp for the day and in the small arena in the church grounds, where we did in camp activities, Knight School and some fighting demonstrations.
We return next year

27th - 29th May, Skipton Castle
Lord Clifford's 'Finest' returned to Skipton Castle shinier and clankier than ever... shame their aim hadn't improved against inanimate and stationary objects such as cabbages.

Mid June - Tatton Park
A large event where many households arrived to enter the fray. The Clifford Household (all three of them!) found company in the encampment of our enemies / rivals / drinking buddies the Neville Household.

June 24th - June 25th, Conwy Medieval Tournament
This two-day Multiperiod Medieval event (everything from Normans and Vikings to the Cliffords in their 15th century finery), jesters, an archery tournament, living history encampments and a huge banquet.
The joust next to our encampment was something to behold!
Our Clifford men won a number of medals in the tounament fighting against Historic European Martial Artists from around the world (yes we are THAT good).
We also figured out how many knights fit in a phone box, but that's another story.

August Bank Holiday, Muncaster Castle
The awe inspiring backdrop of Muncaster castle provided the stage for our last event of the season.
Once again there was the clang of the blacksmith's hammer, the clash of swords and the smell of woodsmoke as we brought the sights, sounds and smells of the Cousins' War (War of the Roses) to Muncaster.
