The minutes were agreed as a true record. There were no matters arising.
3. Report on 2011 Events
Dan Nelson reported on the ‘quite pleasant’ event at Towton in April. We were
represented by Kenneth Morrison, Dan Nelson, John Nelson and Wesley
Perriman. They joined the walk and the commemoration service and were
Lord Clifford’s bodyguard at the Battle of Ferrybridge. There was a lot of
artillery this year.
The Living History events at Skipton and Muncaster had also been a great
success. We have been invited back to both venues.
Some suggestions were made for next year based on this year’s experiences:
4. Financial Report
Adrian Waite reported that during 2010/11 income had been £1,890 and
expenditure £1,608 leading to a surplus of £282. Balances at the end of the
year were £1,998. Full copies of the accounts are available to members on
request.
5. Election of Committee
The following were elected to the Committee for 2011/12: Sheila McDonald,
John Nelson, Aaron Robshaw, Adrian Waite, Elaine Waite, and Tim Wilson.
6. 2012 Events
We have accepted repeat bookings at Skipton Castle (June bank holiday) and
Muncaster Castle (August bank holiday) and have written to a dozen other
potential venues with a view to securing another one or two bookings.
It was decided not to re-enact a royal visit at Skipton but to present the usual
living history weekend.
It was decided to seek an invitation to Tewkesbury as some members wish to
attend.
There is an event in September 2012 at Beauvale in Nottinghamshire that had
been attended by Andreas and Ann Doebereiner in 2011. It was decided to
seek an invitation.
7. Winter Musters
It was decided to hold a winter musters in December, February and March.
The December muster will be combined with a Christmas party. Adrian Waite
would circulate the dates.
8. Any Other Business
The loading and unloading of the van at Murton was discussed. It was agreed
to pay someone to assist Adrian Waite with this task.

Some suggestions were made for next year based on this year’s experiences:
- The armoury should be roped off during demonstrations if there is no one there to attend it.
- The ropes on the awning should be altered so poles would be less likely to fall over.
- The weapons rack should be altered to make it more stable. Perhaps it should be tied down with ropes.
- Care should be taken not to put up the awning too near the fire.
- A bucket of water should be kept near the fire.
- There should be guideline runners on the ropes.
- A brazier should be bought to heat the chapel at Skipton.
- A wind break would be useful. David Murray offered to make one.
