Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 2012
held on 22nd September 2012 at 3 Bongate, Appleby.
Present: Marie Amundsen, Newton Bowmer, James Hodgson, Matthew James, Sheila McDonald, Kenneth Morrison, Ruth Morrison, David Murray, Ginette Murray, Dan Nelson, John Nelson, Aaron Robshaw, Adrian Waite, Anna Waite, Elaine Waite, Tim Wilson.
The meeting started at 2.00pm and ended at 4.00pm.
1. Apologies for Absence
1.1 Apologies for Absence were received from: Helen Batchelor, Simon Batchelor, Ann Bowmer and Jane Nelson.
2. Minutes of the Annual General Meeting 2011
2.1 The minutes were agreed as a true record.
3. Report on Activities during 2011/12
3.1 The Society had attended the Towton Battle Commemoration in April and had held living history events at Skipton Castle in May and Muncaster Castle in August.
4. Financial Report 2011/12
4.1 Adrian Waite reported that income for the year 2011/12 had been £1,902 and expenditure had been £2,616 giving a deficit for the year of £714 and a closing balance of £1,284. The society aims to keep about £1,000 in balances and to spend any surplus funds on equipment and this had happened during the year. Copies of the detailed accounts were available at the meeting and are available to members on request.
4.2 Potential new purchases discussed were:
Quintain and tabards for the knight school
Windbreak for around the fire
Box trailer for transporting and storing kit
Additional have-a-go bows and replacement strings
5. Election of Committee for 2011/12
5.1 The following members were elected:
Chair – Dan Nelson
Secretary – Aaron Robshaw
Treasurer – David Murray
Other committee members – Newton Bowmer, Matthew James, Sheila McDonald, Tim Wilson.
6. Planned Activities for 2012/13
6.1 It was agreed to attend the Towton Battle commemoration and to hold living history events at Skipton Castle in May 2013 and Muncaster Castle in August 2013 as usual.
7. Any Other Business
7.1 David Murray offered to host the next AGM at his house at Newbiggin.
